About

Pouria Mistani

I build large-scale simulations of physical systems.

Trained as a physicist, retrained as a computational scientist. I'm drawn to the same problem in every domain I've worked: how do you build a simulation that's both faithful to physics and large enough to be useful — and how do you co-design AI inside it so the physics stays exact and the compute stays the engine of progress.

Operating philosophy

Five sentences.

  1. Pick problems where the physics is exhaustive and the scale is commercially meaningful.

  2. Compute is the engine of progress in science and technology — and simulation and AI are co-designed as one organism, each loop of the solver shaping the model and each model call sharpening the solver.

  3. Numerical methods, supercomputing, and AI are one stack — not three.

  4. If the demo doesn't run on hardware that matters, it isn't real yet.

  5. Search for purpose, build technology, find the business.
